ASSOCIATE

Anne is a fourth generation Montanan who grew up in Helena. She received her Master’s degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in rhetoric from the University of Montana before graduating with honors from the University of Montana School of Law. As a law student, Anne received the American Bar Association’s prestigious Steiger Fellowship in consumer protection law. She was also one of 15 women nationally to be selected for the ABA’s “Ms. JD” Student Fellowship during her third year. While in law school Anne worked for the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Political Practices and in the Attorney General’s Office in the Consumer Protection Division. She was also a member of the National Moot Court Regional Championship team. Anne joined MSWD right after law school to practice alongside her father, Rick Sherwood.

In 2020 Anne received the Outstanding New Lawyer Award from the Montana Trial Lawyers Association for her trial work and advocacy for on behalf of individual Montanans. She is also honored to have been voted by her community as one of the “Best Attorneys in Helena” in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Anne focuses her practice on helping Montanans in the areas of consumer protection, employment, personal injury, intellectual property, and constitutional law. She also serves on the Montana Legal Services Pro Bono Advisory Board.

When she’s not in the office Anne enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Adam and their family.
